Douglas Stewart is fortunate to work with many sustainable brands who aim to lessen the environmental impact the retail industry has on our planet. We are pleased to introduce you to a few of our brand partners who implement sustainable practices into their business models.
Paleblue
Paleblue makes reusable batteries in various sizes that last as long as a normal battery and can be recharged up to 1,000 times. Paleblue also uses recyclable paper packaging in its retail batteries, which is made from post-consumer recycled materials and includes a reusable clamshell case for secure storage and transportation after they’re taken out of the packaging.
Paleblue also partners with various organizations who work to clean up trash in the environment, reduce waste and emissions, and protect local ecosystems.
Solo New York
Solo New York offers backpacks, laptop sleeves, duffel bags, and more in sleek, modern styles that anyone can enjoy. Their “RE:” line of bags are made from recycled materials and can even be machine washed! Through this product line, Solo New York prevents around 40 million plastic bottles from ending up in landfills or as litter in the environment while giving consumers a sustainable solution that’s easy to clean and maintain.
Their process of recycling plastic bottles into bags uses 50% less energy and 20% less water than the typical process of making bags and creates 60% less air pollution as well. Solo New York also partners with the National Forest Foundation and so far has planted 48 thousand trees to fight deforestation.
Sudio
Swedish brand Sudio creates powerful audio solutions in diverse product lines for all types of listeners. Sudio understands their customers’ desire to support a sustainable company, so they began implementing practices to become a more sustainable company.
They began planting trees to offset CO2 emissions, shipping products by boat instead of plane, removing plastic from packaging, and incorporating vegan leather into certain product lines in place of real leather. Their conscious design choices reflect a commitment to sustainability throughout the brand’s entire business model.
Urbanista
Another Swedish brand, Urbanista began incorporating various sustainability initiatives to improve their products’ lifecycles while reducing their overall environmental impact.
These company policy changes resulted in their impressive solar powered headphones, the first audio products in the entire world to be powered by indoor and outdoor light in place of electricity to provide a line of audio products that will never go out.
